Dr. Claire Nelson is the Chief Visionary Officer of The Futures Forum and has been recognized as a Forbes Top 50 Female Futurist. She serves as the Founding Convenor of the Space Futures Forum and curates Space Ungana, which is an international conference dedicated to advancing space research and education in Africa. Dr. Nelson is the founder of the Open Afrika Space Exploration Analog Simulation and a co-founder of the Caribbean Space Society. She also holds advisory roles for several organizations, including the Institute of Space Law and Ethics/For All Moonkind, Space for Humanity, and SpaceKidz India.

Dr. Nelson, author of the book “SMART Futures for a Flourishing World: A Paradigm Shift for Achieving Global Sustainability” is a sought-after speaker, with engagements including, International Space University, Saudi Space Debris Conference, Dubai Futures Forum, UN-OOSA Emerging Space Nations Workshop. Her solo-storytelling show ‘Moon Runnings: The Life and Times of the First Jamaican on the Moon’ illuminates the challenges and hopes for human space exploration.
