In her research in astrobiology, Aidyl investigates a wide range of topics, from analyzing soil health to studying microbiomes in extreme environments, spanning from the Arctic to lava tube caves in the Azores. She sheds light on the adaptability of life forms in extraterrestrial conditions, focusing on microbial life and nematodes.
Beyond her academic pursuits, Aidyl leads citizen science initiatives as the Director of Outreach at the International Institute of Astronautical Sciences. She actively promotes inclusivity and innovation in STEM and advocates for education and diversity.
