Dame Commander Dr. Susan Jewell, MD, DCEG, DOD, is an internationally recognized physician-scientist, space medicine innovator, and leader in human spaceflight and frontier technologies. She is the Founder and CEO of Mars–Moon Astronautics Academy and Research Sciences (MMAARS), Co-Founder of VASTX, an AI-driven digital twin platform for precision pharmacology in space, and Co-Founder of AvatarMEDIC, an XPRIZE ANA Avatar finalist advancing telepresence medical care in austere environments. Her work integrates space medicine, artificial intelligence, and human performance in isolated, confined, and extreme (I.C.E.) environments. She has pioneered high-fidelity analog astronaut missions across desert, underwater, and high-altitude terrains, advancing multi-omics research, wearable biosensors, and AI governance systems. Dr. Jewell earned her MD and completed a clinical cancer research fellowship at the National Cancer Institute (NIH). She trained in molecular pharmacology at UCLA.
