Dr. David Chesny is the Chief Scientist at SpaceWave, LLC, in Satellite Beach FL. Originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he earned his B.S. in Physics from Muhlenberg College and Ph.D. in Space Sciences from Florida Institute of Technology. He is the inventor of the Magnetic Reconnection Rocket and formed SpaceWave in 2019 to develop and deploy space nuclear electric propulsion technologies. He is the Principal Investigator on a Department of Energy grant to study 3D torsional magnetic reconnection at the laboratory scale, which is the process powering solar jets of plasma emanating from the solar atmosphere and contributing to the solar wind. Dr. Chesny is a demonstrated expert in pulse power, electromagnetics, plasma gun manufacturing and operation, and laboratory plasma diagnostics.
