Janet Ivey, the creator of Janet’s Planet, is devoted to enriching children’s lives through education, live performances, TV, and online programming. With over 27 years in children’s entertainment and education, she has garnered widespread acclaim, particularly in Nashville and surrounding areas. Her series, Janet’s Planet, which focuses on science, space, history, and health for 6-11 year-olds, has earned her 12 Regional Emmys and five Gracie Awards. It airs on over 140 public television stations nationwide and is also available on platforms such as YouTube, BatteryPop, Minnow, and HighBrow in the UK.

Janet serves as the CEO of Janet’s Planet, Inc. She is also a NASA JPL Solar System Ambassador and has been honored with a STEM-FLORIDA Award for her educational video “Exploring Microgravity,” which she produced for Space Florida. Her active role in the National Space Society is significant, having joined the NSS Board of Governors in 2015. Janet’s commitment to space education and children’s science advocacy continues to make her an influential figure in these fields.
