Gerald has built an extensive career in academics, research, and science administration, serving at prestigious institutions including Berkeley, the University of Iowa, Notre Dame, Texas A&M, Emory, the University of Illinois, and Purdue. His professional output is highlighted by seventy biomedical publications as well as significant experience managing grants and contracts, including work with the NIH. In addition to his academic work, he is deeply involved with the National Space Society, where he has participated in March Storm and contributed to both membership efforts and the NSS Roadmap. Gerald also applies his expertise as a judge and manager for various competitions, including the O’Neill and Live in a Healthy Space contests.
