Andrew Nelson is a long-time leader in the commercial space industry, currently serving as Vice President and National Discipline Leader for RS&H’s Aerospace Practice. He oversees aerospace consulting, spaceport planning, licensing, infrastructure engineering, and building projects. Nelson chairs ASTM F47 – Commercial Space Standards and is on NFPA Committee 461, Spaceports. He was the President and COO of XCOR Aerospace and led his own space consultancy, where among other accomplishments, he advised on $8B+ in space investments from 2015-2022. His career spans engineering roles at Pan Am World Services at Cape Canaveral and MITRE, international aviation and space strategy consulting leadership at Booz Allen & Hamilton from Paris and London, and investment banking at Morgan Stanley. Nelson holds degrees from Ohio University (BSEE) and MIT (MBA), and attended the London School of Economics.
