Recent developments in reusable rocketry have dramatically increased the near-term possibilities for space. As the cost of launch continues to fall, the barriers to large-scale space development are growing thinner and thinner. Space solar power, planetary sunshades, orbital data centers, and advanced in-space manufacturing are just a few of the many industries that are quickly becoming viable.

Hosted by the Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS), this session will provide a launchpad for students and young professionals to present their research on the development of cislunar space and the uses of space for the benefit of Earth. This will include students from the Space Development for Earth competition, a partnership between SEDS and the Planetary Sunshade Foundation (PSF). In this competition, students will research the possibilities of large-scale extraction of resources on the Moon and the many ways this can benefit our planet.
