Jose Molina is a pioneering leader in Puerto Rico’s aerospace industry, with a career dedicated to advancing spaceport development, economic growth, and talent cultivation. As CEO and co-founder of the Puerto Rico Space Foundation (PRSF), he drives initiatives that position Puerto Rico as a key player in the global space sector.
Molina’s expertise in spaceport development began with his role as Business Development Engineer for Spaceport Puerto Rico at Spaceinnova LLC (2014-2017). His team successfully secured government approval to initiate the FAA launch site operator license process and attracted over $10 million in investments. His work earned the “Best Aerospace Economic Development Plan” award, solidifying Puerto Rico’s potential as a launch hub.
His influence extends to government advisory roles, served on the Governor-appointed Council for the Aerospace and Aeronautical Industry from 2022 to 2024. In this capacity, he provided strategic guidance on spaceport infrastructure, policy, and sustainable aerospace development.
Through PRSF, Molina has spearheaded groundbreaking initiatives, including Puerto Rico’s first analog astronaut training program and the first Space Business Plan Hackathon. His leadership has forged partnerships with international institutions, advancing workforce development and space research.
In 2024, Molina attended the White House National Space Council meeting, aligning Puerto Rico’s aerospace initiatives with national space policy. His vision continues to shape Puerto Rico’s role in the space economy, ensuring its long-term impact on the global stage.
